Mathias' First Birthday

Mathias was only 1730 grams when he was born on October 12, 2016. He had to stay in the NICU for two weeks until he reached a healthy weight to go home. RMH was my home and comfort during these 2 weeks. Even though we were blessed with only a low birth weight and a short stay, it was one of the hardest times of our lives. Two weeks seems short now, but it felt like a lifetime when we were living it. I can't imagine what it's like for families with a seriously ill child and have to call RMH home for months. One definitely can't know or appreciate everything RMH does for families on the most difficult time of their lives until you have to experience it. I truly am grateful, and Mathias' first birthday is dedicated to the Ronald McDonald House.
