I’m raising $2,500 to provide dinner for the families currently staying with us at RMHC Toronto. I have the great privilege of being the Director of Development & Communications at Ronald McDonald House Charities Toronto. Our 81 room House provides compassionate hospitality to families with critically ill children seeking treatment in the City. Our families come from across Ontario, Canada and even around the world. We’ve been deemed an essential service during these extraordinary times. You and I are doing our best to cope… can you even imagine what it must be like for families with a critically ill child in addition to this ‘new normal’ we are all experiencing? A difficult experience has just become much, much harder. With COVID-19, we’ve had to put our Home for Dinner on hold. Traditionally we’ve had the employees of our corporate partners come in and prepare hot, nutritious meals for our families several times a week – some of you may have even done that yourselves! In order to ensure our families continue to receive a minimum of three catered meals a week we’ve hired a caterer who has worked with us before. To protect our families, they are in isolation except for the time they spend in our commercial kitchen making meals for our families. Our staff are going above and beyond as well – packaging up individual meals and delivering right to the door of each family. We didn’t plan for this expense but it’s the right thing to do. The situation is dire, BUT WE CAN HELP! I’m raising $2,500 to provide one hot meal for our families. It’s the least I can do and I hope my family, my friends and my Girls Brunch Club will join me and make a donation to my fundraiser today!
